Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough
1 lb thinly sliced steak, or deli roast beef
1 onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
8 slices provolone or American cheese
1 egg, for egg wash
marinara or cheese sauce, for dipping

Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Method

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cook the steak, onion, and bell pepper in olive oil until browned and softened, about 6 to 8 minutes.
Step 3: Roll out the pizza dough and cut into rectangles.
Step 4: Fill each rectangle with the steak mixture and a piece of cheese, then roll up and pinch to seal.
Tip: Don't overfill, or the rolls may burst open while baking.
Step 5: Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Step 6: Brush with egg wash and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until golden.
Step 7: Serve warm with marinara or cheese sauce for dipping.

                  Notes

Let the steak filling cool slightly before rolling so the dough doesn't turn soggy while baking.
